DevOps Engineer - London UK or Budapest

As a DevOps engineer at Flexion you will be working closely with a team of experienced Java developers in a fast-paced Agile environment to extend Flexion's platform capabilities and product portfolio and extend our reach in the marketplace.


Key Activities and Responsibilities 

  • Be instrumental in containerization of the platform
  • Enable platform scalability by automating manual operations tasks
  • Work with CTO in modernizing the platform
  • Work with the development team to improve software delivery pipeline
  • Ensure production systems are adequately monitored so problems can be identified and resolved quickly
  • Ensure business continuity of production systems
  • Enforce defined security measures and policy
  • Manage and mentor junior DevOps staff as required


Essential Skills and Requirements: 

  • 3+ years experience as DevOps engineer

  • Strong knowledge of Linux/UNIX and associated command line and scripting tools

  • Experience with virtualization/cloud environments using AWS technology

  • Experience with DevOps/configuration management tools, preferably Ansible

  • Experience with DBMS platforms (preferably MySQL) and at least a basic familiarity with SQL

  • Experience with Docker and container orchestration tools


Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Any experience with data warehousing or big data platforms
  • Experience with ELK stack
  • Experience with monitoring tools e.g. Nagios, CloudWatch
  • Experience with continuous integration tools, preferably Jenkins
  • Experience with Java build tools (preferably Maven) and build artifact management tools (Artifactory or
  • Nexus)
  • Experience managing Java EE application servers, preferably JBoss/WildFly
  • Experience with SCM tools, preferably Git
  • Experience with Agile e.g. Scrum/Kanban
  • Any experience with Android app deployment
  • Some Java programming skills
